Question by Mike: Can you have one big Virtual Memory file /page file successfully work good if…?
…you run a program every day to defrag it and the drive and align it on the hard disk? Like one 8 gig file? Side question: Would that stop windows from saying that your virtual memory is too low? By the way I play games all the time and listen to internet radio stations…
***It seems the only reason that techs say not to go over 1 and a half times or two times your RAM is because the pagefile can get fragmented and that the harddrive is slower…. But if I have system mechanic (software) defrag it on each reboot, defrag the harddrive and realign the programs harddisk and page file it seems this would cancel out the pagefile fragmentation issue, leaving only the “harddisk is slower than the RAM issue”, to which if I say if you need it you need it, you don’t have to worry about windows slowing down or crashing your game, program or computer while it adjusts to an amount that still might not be big enough, and as far as playing online video games with a setup like this the longer you play the bigger the game file(s) get as you discover new territories and maps, the hard disk works like when you play a dvd game and it copies the data to your harddisk becuase it’s faster than a cd-rom 52x or any dvd drive ….***
(PLEASE FIRST ANSWER YES OR NO AND WHY, THEN IF YOU WANT TO ADDRESS MY IDEAS IN THE *** *** OR GO KINDA OFF TOPIC DO SO THEN, ATLEAST YOU GAVE A STRAIGHT ANSWER. PLEASE DON’T TELL ME TO BUY MORE RAM I HAVE NO MONEY)
THANKS AHEAD OF TIME
