San Mateo, Calif. (PRWEB) December 02, 2014

SnapLogic, the Elastic Integration company, today announced the Winter 2015 release of its SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform. The new release introduces enhanced security and lifecycle management capabilities for integration platform as a service (iPaaS) deployments, new and updated cloud and on-premises connectors, called Snaps, and a continued focus on productivity and self-service features for “citizen integrators.”

According to a recent Gartner report, “Gartner believes that you, as IT leaders, should understand, embrace and even promote citizen integrators. You should also put in place appropriate guardrails to limit risks and debts, but, as it happened with preceding user-driven phenomena — such as PCs, the Web, bring your own device (BYOD), cloud, smartphones and tablets — ignoring or fighting citizen integrators will prove to be futile. Opposing citizen integrators will also risk undermining your IT department’s relevance in the eyes of business leaders who do want the efficiency and agility they perceive as associated with citizen integrators.” (1)

“We’re seeing a re-imagining of integration in the enterprise as CIOs look for greater business alignment and agility as well as a faster payback on their cloud application and analytics investments,” said Gaurav Dhillon, CEO of SnapLogic. “Our Elastic Integration Platform is now processing over 10 billion JSON documents per month and with a focus on security, performance and developer productivity, the Winter 2015 release enables our customers to further expand their iPaaS deployments from real-time data synchronization and orchestration to big data integration initiatives.”

iPaaS for the Enterprise

SnapLogic goes beyond point-to-point line of business cloud integration tools with a fast, multi-point and modern platform that connects data, applications and APIs. In addition to performance gains throughout the Elastic Integration Platform, Winter 2015 enterprise iPaaS updates include:

Enhanced Encryption – For hybrid deployments, account credentials used to access endpoints from the SnapLogic Integration Cloud can now be encrypted using a private key/public key model. The data is encrypted with a public key and is decrypted with a private key on the SnapLogic Snaplex, which is the data integration processing grid running behind the firewall in this configuration.
Lifecycle Management – The introduction of Phases allows data flow developers to create and test pipelines before moving them into production. Administrators can restrict who can access each Phase and whether or not they have execution permissions. Integration projects can be easily promoted or rolled back as pipelines move through the development to test to production lifecycle.
Improved Developer Productivity – 20+ user experience features and enhancements to the multi-tenant, HTML5 Designer including the ability to easily turn pipelines into Snap Patterns, a right-click Snap context menu for easy delete, copy/paste, or edit, Ctrl/Command+click multi-select and the ability to print or download a document that describes a pipeline, listing the Snaps and pipeline properties.

Big Data Integration

With the Winter 2015 release, SnapReduce 2.0 and the Hadooplex are now available as add-on options for the SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform, allowing organizations to double data scientist productivity. When enabled, a SnapReduce checkbox is added to the Edit Pipeline dialog and the pipeline will automatically generate MapReduce jobs, which can scale across multiple nodes in a Hadoop cluster. When checked, only a subset of Snaps are available to the pipeline developer, including Data Format Snaps, HDFS Read and Write Snaps, and Snaps that support parallelization of big data integration processing (aggregate filter, join, mapper, sort, union, unique). The Winter 2015 release adds support for JSON Parser and Formatter Snaps and run-time statistics are now available directly within the design environment.

New and Updated Snaps

With each release, SnapLogic expands or updates our library of more than 270 Snaps. With the Winter 2015 release, new Snaps are available for Salesforce Analytics Cloud, Sumo Logic and SAP HANA. Updated Snaps include: Google, HDFS, NetSuite OpenAir and SAP BAPI.

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2014

SnapLogic, the Elastic Integration company, today announced the Fall 2014 release of its SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform. The new release brings integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to the enterprise with an expanded set of capabilities for big data acquisition, preparation and delivery as well as productivity, performance and scalability updates.

According to Gartner, “It is time to shed the one-size-fits-all approach to integration and for companies to reassess their IT investment strategy to accommodate the adaptive and citizen integration approaches to complement — and in some cases, replace — their systematic approach.”

SnapReduce: Hadoop-Enabled Processing and Big Data Wrangling

With the Fall 2014 release, SnapLogic customers can specify where integration processing should occur (in the cloud, behind the firewall and/or within a Hadoop cluster) and, if desired, Hadoop-enable a data flow with a single click.

Hadoop-enabled Pipelines: In the multi-tenant, cloud-based Designer, data consumers can select SnapReduce to transform data flows, called pipelines, into MapReduce jobs that run on Hadoop. The Fall 2014 release also introduces support for parsing and formatting additional Hadoop file formats (SequenceFile and RCFile) and document (JSON) processing for MapReduce jobs.
Hadooplex: Certified by Cloudera and Hortonworks, SnapLogic customers can now set, schedule and trigger a multi-source pipeline to run natively as a YARN application. The elastic execution grid can be easily configured by simply selecting the Hadooplex option when running in a Hadoop cluster.
Kerberos Authentication: Many enterprises are deploying Hadoop clusters with Kerberos security enabled. The SnapLogic Hadooplex now supports Kerberos authentication for reading and writing HDFS data as well as launching Hadooplex nodes via YARN and SnapReduce pipelines to MapReduce. Native support for Kerberos in the Hadooplex helps enterprises meet their security requirements while achieving easy-to-use data integration.

“The Fall 2014 release furthers our mission of delivering a unified platform to power big data, cloud application and API adoption in the enterprise,” said Gaurav Dhillon, CEO of SnapLogic. “As customers and partners continue to recognize the architecture and usability strengths of the SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform, we’re seeing increasing opportunities to democratize the flow of information and replace legacy data integration technologies that are slowing down business growth and innovation in the era of social, mobile, analytics, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.”

Enterprise iPaaS: Productivity and Performance

With each release of the SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform, there is a continued focus on usability, deployability, security and performance. Updates in the Fall 2014 release include:

Data Mapping and Shaping: The ability to preview a subset of data and its structure before and after it has been transformed, cleansed or otherwise integrated makes big data small, relevant and impactful to analysts and data scientists. The new Data Mapper also introduces progressive schema loading, direct schema-to-schema mapping and map-path highlighting to optimize performance and productivity when working with complex schema.
Hierarchical SmartLinking: To accelerate development and improve the self-learning features within the SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform, SmartLinking now understands context in JSON and XML documents and adds support for nested hierarchies.
Pipeline Versions: Data flow designers can now easily see previous versions of a pipeline and replace an existing pipeline with a newer one or rollback to a previous version as necessary to improve the development lifecycle.

New and Updated Snaps

Snaps are pre-built connectors for specific enterprise applications, data sources and technologies. The Fall 2014 release introduces new and/or updated Snaps for: Expensify, JMS, Oracle, Salesforce.com, SAP, ServiceNow, SFTP, SOAP, Workday, Xactly, File Writer and XML.
